Pulmonology Critical Care Specialist to Medical Staff

Krishna Kakkera, MD, Pulmonology Critical Care Medicine, Batesville Pulmonology Clinic(Batesville, Ark.) –Gary L. Bebow, CEO of White River Health System (WRHS) recently welcomed Dr. Krishna Kakkera, Pulmonology/ Critical Care, to the medical staff.  Dr. Kakkera is seeing patients at the Batesville Pulmonology Clinic. 

Dr. Kakkera received his medical degree form Osmania Medical College Affiliated to NTR University of Health Science in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.  He completed an Internal Medicine Internship and residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, Arkansas. He then completed a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UAMS. Dr. Kakkera is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Pulmonology.  He is Board Eligible in Critical Care.

As a Pulmonologist, Dr. Kakkera works on diagnosis and management of patients with lung conditions including but not limited to COPD/ emphysema, asthma, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, pleural effusions, lung nodules and occupational lung diseases. He uses procedures such as Bronchoscopy and Endobronchial ultrasound to help in diagnosis of lung cancer and also other pulmonary conditions.  As a critical care specialist, Dr. Kakkera cares for seriously ill patients admitted to the ICU with multi-organ failure, respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation, sepsis/septic shock, and other critical conditions.

“Dr. Kakkera is a great addition to the White River Health System medical staff,” said Bebow. “His experience in critical care provides him with greater opportunities to serve the patients of our area.”

Dr. Kakkera and his wife, Maneetha Kodali, have a newborn daughter named Svara Kakkera.

“I am eager to serve the people in a rural community such as Batesville,” said Dr. Kakkera.  “I know that I will use my skills to meet the challenge of providing the best possible care to the patients entrusted to me.”
