Childbirth Education

Home | Childbirth Education

Essentials of Delivery

We will help your family prepare for baby by teaching about the essentials of childbirth education using video, demonstrations, and open discussion. Topics include pain management, routine and special procedures, delivery, and safety.

Basic Newborn Care

You will learn techniques for feeding, bathing, diapering, safety, and basic care of the newborn. Techniques are taught through video, demonstrations, and open discussion. If you have purchased your car seat, bring it for techniques on ensuring your baby's comfort and safety.

Breastfeeding Basics

Breast milk provides the ideal nutrition for infants. It has a nearly perfect mix of vitamins, protein, and fat – everything your baby needs to grow; and breast milk also contains antibodies that help your baby fight off viruses and bacteria – something that infant formula can't do!! Making the decision to breastfeed is a personal decision. Here at WRMC we want to help you get started on the right track and we are here to help ensure successful breastfeeding. Our nurses have all been educated in assisting with breastfeeding and we also have lactation counselors available to assist you with any complications.
