Achieving Better Health through Weight Loss

(Batesville, Ark.) – According to the Centers for Disease Control, more than one-third of US adults are clinically obese. The Weight Loss to Wellness Program offered at WRMC Surgery Clinic is a medically supervised weight loss program.

Research shows that people using a weight loss plan that includes healthy nutrition, regular exercise, and support are more successful at losing weight and maintaining a healthy weight.

The Weight Loss to Wellness program begins with a complete medical evaluation. Jessica Moody, APRN and Michelle Hagen, APRN work with each patient to develop an individual plan based on overall health, weight loss goals, and physical ability. In optional group meetings, patients share strategies for success and common barriers for long-term weight loss. Plans include, meal plans, recipes, and exercise routines. Throughout the program, nurses monitor blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight loss as well as offer support to their patients. Weight loss providers work with patients to develop a plan for maintaining a healthy weight through nutrition and exercise.

“Arkansas has the third highest rate of adult obesity in the United States,” said Gary Bebow, CEO of White River Health System. “This program guides patients through the lifestyle changes that lead to better overall health.”

The Weight Loss to Wellness program is located at 501 Virginia Drive, Suite A in Batesville. The program is available every Thursday from 2PM to 5:30PM. The program is cash only fee basis. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (870) 698-4898
