Inspiring the Love of Reading for Newborns at White River Medical Center

White River Medical Center (WRMC) and the United Way of North Central Arkansas provide a free book to every newborn at WRMC through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. After enrollment children receive a specially selected, age appropriate book each year until age five through a partnership between Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, the United Way of North Central Arkansas, and WRMC.

Charles Varela MD Performs Total Wrist Replacement Surgery in Mountain View

Charles D. Varela, MD Orthopaedic Surgeon performs the first total wrist replacement at Stone County Medical Center (SCMC) using the the latest state of the art prosthesis. The new prosthesis has shown potential to significantly reduce the patient’s pain and preserve motion while reducing complications. This is a major advancement in the area of hand surgery.

White River Health Receives Commitment Award - Governor's Quality Award

White River Health received the Commitment Award, a level designed for organizations that have progressed to a point of demonstrating serious commitment to the use of quality principles to attain performance excellence. The Commitment Award is the second level of four award levels in moving toward the fourth and highest level in Arkansas – the Governor’s Quality Award for Performance Excellence.
