Dixon Welcomed as Provider

(Batesville, Ark.)— Beginning August 3, Blake Dixon, MD, CAQ-SM, will be seeing patients at the Midway Medical Clinic located inside the WRMC Medical Complex Cherokee Village.  Dr. Dixon will work alongside Tim Young, MD, and Lisa Sherrill, APRN.

Dr. Dixon will provide primary care, including wellness exams, to patients of all ages. He is focused on providing quality care to residents of Cherokee Village and surrounding areas, as well as maintaining direct communication with his patients and the healthcare community.

Dr. Dixon obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock.  He completed his residency through the Bayfront St. Petersburg for Family Medicine Residency Program.  He also completed a fellowship through the Cone Health Sports Medicine Program in Greensboro, North Carolina.

In addition to three years of residency training, Dr. Dixon completed one year of fellowship training in Sports Medicine. As a family physician with sports medicine training, Dr. Dixon’s practice will include primary medical care as well as non-surgical treatment of arthritis, muscle strains, sprains, and other chronic bone and joint diseases.

As an Arkansas Native, I am eager to serve patients in my home state and be a part of a medical community that is focused on excellent medical care, as well as prevention and wellness,” said Dr. Dixon.

During residency, Dr. Dixon received the resident Advocacy award, for his roles in the Florida Academy of Family Physicians and Florida Reach Out and Read program.  He served as the chair of Reach Out and Read during residency, the resident chair for recruitment within his residency program, as a member of the Bayfront Code Blue committee, and as the Florida Academy resident member of CPD committee.

Dr. Dixon was born and raised in Russellville, AR.  He and his wife, Meg, have one dog, Iroh; one cat, Strider; and two rabbits.  In their free time, they enjoy fishing, hiking, painting, running and basketball.  In true Arkansas fashion, they are loyal Razorback fans.

The Midway Medical Clinic is located at 195 Hospital Drive in Cherokee Village.  The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7am to 5:30pm.  For more information or to make an appointment, call: (870)-257-6000.
