Little Hats, Big Hearts Campaign

Administrator 02/01/2020

Little Hats, Big Hearts Campaign

(Batesville, Ark.) – At White River Medical Center (WRMC), every baby born in February received a hand-knitted red hat as part of the Little Hats, Big Hearts Campaign of the American Heart Association (AHA).  This campaign was created to raise awareness for heart disease, the number one killer of adults in America, and congenital heart defects, the most common type of birth defect.

“We are proud to join the American Heart Association in support of those who are affected by Heart Disease,” said Gary Paxson, CEO of White River Health System.  “I want to also thank all our WRMC volunteers who dedicated their time to knit all the hats provided to our WRMC babies.”

The Little Hats, Big Hearts program was designed by the American Heart Association in collaboration with The Children’s Heart Foundation as a reminder to parents and families of the importance of heart health.

In addition to the precious newborns receiving a red hat, parents also receive information pertinent for the heart health of themselves and their bundle of joy.
