WRHS Foundation Pink Dinner and Golf Golf Classic Raise Funds for WRMC Breast Care Center

Batesville, Ark.—The White River Health System Foundation (WRHSF) raised a record $253,343 during the 23rd Annual Golf Classic and Pink Dinner. The proceeds will benefit WRMC Breast Care Center. The weekend of the events kicked off with the Pink Dinner on Friday night. Guests gathered at the home of Robert and Beth Christian. Guest speakers were Dr. Steve Alexander, Breast Surgeon, and breast cancer survivor Michelle Huff and her husband Richard, whose mother died from breast cancer.

On Saturday, 176 players competed at The Course at Eagle Mountain. Sponsors included 99 businesses and individuals who stepped up to support the event.

"This year's tournament was our most successful ever," said Dick Bernard, President of the WRHS Foundation Board of Trustees. "We appreciate the generosity of our sponsors, players, and volunteers. Their support of the WRHS Foundation and the WRMC Breast Care Center will have a positive impact on the patients and families we serve."

The Level One sponsors included: Citizens Bank, Clark Contractors, LLC; Consumer Collections Management, Inc; Cromwell Architects Engineers; Cup'd Up Outdoors; Pepsi Beverage Company; Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects; Professional Consulting Services; Rainmaker Customz; Randy Reichardt Insurance; Simply Southern Boutique & Engraving; Smith Plumbing Co., Inc.; TCAEM; The MASH Program; and White River Insurance Agency/ White River Financial Services. The Level Two Sponsors were First Community Bank; Modern Biomedical & Imaging, Inc.; Wann Office Supply; and Welch, Couch & Company, PA.

Additionally, approximately 35 WRHS employees and several friends of WRHS volunteered at the tournament.

"This event would not be possible without our volunteers," said Gary Bebow, WRHS CEO/Administrator. "We are grateful for all their hard work and dedication."

Established in 1992, the WRHSF supports the mission of WRHS by connecting the generosity of a caring community with opportunities to improve lives through better healthcare. The vision of the WRHSF is to build a strong Foundation to support quality healthcare for patients and families.

In the last 22 years, the Golf Classic has raised over $2.6M for vital programs and projects such as nursing scholarships, community health programs, the WRMC Cancer Care Center, the Josephine Raye Rogers Center for Women and Imaging, the Ground Floor Renovation and Patient Tower Expansion project, WRMC ED expansion and renovation, and most recently, the WRMC Breast Care Center.
