The WRMC Medical Complex Newport recently hosted a Healthy Day for Kids during the IMAD (I Made a Difference) Summer Program in Newport. Employees from the WRMC Medical Complex Newport Cardiac Rehab and Physical Therapy Departments, and WRMC's Emergency Department employees from Batesville and Cherokee Village were proud to be a part of the IMAD Healthy Day for Kids in Newport. Students learned about physical therapy, sports safety, and exercise; healthy eating; prescription drugs and tobacco awareness; hand washing techniques; brain injury education; blood pressure; and toured emergency response vehicles, including a Survival Flight helicopter. Several Corporate partners were involved in making the Healthy Day for Kids a success. The Corporate partners included; Arkansas Department of Health, Health Resources of Arkansas, Newport Fire Department, Newport Police Department, Survival Flight, Inc., University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) AR Saves Program, and UAMS North Central and Northeast.
